Computer Lab

3rd grade students are learning to type so that they will be prepared for the 3rd grade SBAC test in May where they must type all of their answers.  They all have an account on where they can log in with their student ID#’s and heber1 as the password.  Ideally they will find success in learning to type if they can spend 15 minutes or more a day practicing and working on the lessons in this website.

Since they only come into the Computer Lab once a week, they do not have enough time in school to become proficient without extra practice, and there are other things they also need to learn to do on the computers in order to be able to successfully navigate the test.

Although the 2nd grade students do not have to take this computerized test this year, the sooner they learn to type, the easier it will be for them to be successful in typing when it is required next year.  They are also able to log in to  with their student ID#’s and heber1 as the password.

The more practice students get on typing correctly while they are young, the easier it will be for them as they grow up and are required to type the majority of their school assignments.  Typing is also an important and valuable job skill!!
After School English Learner Computer Club
We are currently offering an After School English Learner Computer Club at Dogwood on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00 for 2nd and 3rd graders. If your child is interested, have them pick up a permission slip from the office. Students will have the opportunity to work in computer programs which will help their English Language skills.
