The school-wide program PeaceBuilders is a “prevention program of pragmatic techniques for preventing disruption and violence – one that helps to set a positive, peaceful culture in place in the community, in schools, and in homes”.

Teachers engage students in activities that teach them the PeaceBuilders’ principles: Praise People, Give-Up Put-Downs, Seek Wise People, Notice Hurts, Right Wrongs, and Help Others. During monthly assemblies, each teacher recognizes a student who models the PeaceBuilders principles. Students are presented with a PeaceBuilders certificate, t-shirt, and necklace.

Additionally, Girl Scouts, ASES, and MESA also promote citizenship by exposing students to problem-solving, teamwork, and solving real-life situations.
